Thank You, Joy! Celebrating a Remarkable Chapter at Anerley Town Hall!
Although Joy Hannon officially retired on 12 June, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate her incredible contribution to Anerley Town Hall and Crystal Palace Community Trust (CPCT), and to thank her for the difference she has made over the past several years.
Joy first joined CPCT as a volunteer in 2019, bringing with her a passion for helping people and a warm, welcoming personality that quickly made her a valued member of the team. She later became our Office & Business Officer, playing a vital role in the day-to-day running of Anerley Town Hall and supporting the many businesses, organisations and community groups that call the building home.
For many visitors, Joy was the first person they met when they walked through our doors. Whether helping someone find a local service, welcoming a new tenant, or simply taking the time to have a friendly chat, Joy always made people feel at home. Her kindness, patience and genuine care for others have left a lasting impression on everyone who has worked with her.
Looking back on her time with CPCT, Joy said:
"I am so proud to work for CPCT, which really helps local residents find much-needed services and activities and supports local businesses and the community too. I love talking to all our visitors – it's a great place to have worked."
That passion for supporting the community has been evident throughout Joy's time with us. She has helped countless residents access services, supported local businesses as they have grown, and contributed to making Anerley Town Hall the welcoming community hub it is today.
Reflecting on Joy's contribution, CPCT Chief Executive Officer, Ben Harding, said:
"Joy's warm smile has been one of the first things people see when they walk through our doors. She has always made everyone feel welcome and has played an important role in helping Anerley Town Hall. Her kindness, dedication and commitment will be greatly missed, and we wish her every happiness in her retirement."
This farewell is also an opportunity to thank Joy's husband, who has retired alongside her after serving as one of our dedicated cleaners. His hard work behind the scenes has helped keep the Town Hall welcoming and well cared for, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he has done.
Together, Joy and her husband have been a valued part of the Anerley Town Hall family. Their commitment, professionalism and friendly approach have touched the lives of colleagues, tenants, volunteers and visitors alike.
Everyone at Crystal Palace Community Trust and Anerley Town Hall wishes Joy and her husband a long, happy and well-deserved retirement. Thank you both for your years of service, your dedication to our community, and for helping make Anerley Town Hall such a special place. You will always be part of our story, and you will be greatly missed.
